What the hell are you talking about 4th is biased against? Of course he is, but that doesn't have anything to do with the ruling. The thing is, if you start arresting people on specious charges just because another empire has arrested a spy of yours, people will think that you're crazy, and take investment out of the country. And with all the protests occuring, having your tax income drop 5% isn't all that unreasonable.

How many people are in an empire at the start of a game? a few billion? Okay, lets look at those pretty brutal WTO Riots in Seattle a few years back. Lets look at the world GDP in conjunction with that. Did the worlds GDP drop 5% because of those riots? No, it acctualy grew alot more until it started to slump in late 2000 for unrelated reasons. The fact that the tax income of an entire space-faring empire would drop 5% cos of a few isolated, and mostly non-violent protests is rediculus.

Let's see, the riots were widespread, and more importantly, it damages your nation's reputation among investors.

5% is alot. Protests almost always wouldn't even come close to even 1% of a GDP reduction. While I can understand that in a game, I'm still pretty sure the same thing would not have happened to someone else.

Uhh, Tom...... NA is a *game*. Realism has to take a back seat to game balance and game play.

Sad but true fact about games.

You'd think realism and fun in general would be at the forefront...

In this case, realism and fun are mutually exclusive. Unless, of course, you LIKE dealing with masses of equations.

I'll take 5% for 2 turns over a math test any day, but I still say he's biased :)
