Did anyone watch this piece of shit?? (I'm not going to censor myself because if they don't need to neither do I) This has got to be one of the absolutley fucking worst things I've ever seen.
I guess I can start this mini-rant with the acting... now I have absolutley nothing against Brian Dennehey, hes a decent actor.. but SURELY they could have found someone better to play Bob Knight... Dennehey is way too fat, short and nice-looking. Here's an analogy for you, (as hard as it is to believe), Will Smith is 10 times better at Ali than Dennehey is as Knight. Its just dumb... ideally Knight plays himself (but I can see how that won't happen) or the least they could do is settle for a non-famous actor that can actually DO THE FUCKING JOB!!
That brings me to my next point, the completely unnecessary use of gratuitious swearing. You may know that I'm far from a bible thumper, in fact I don't really believe in censorship at all... but this was just ridiculous. In several different occasions, Dennehey goes off on what I like to call "fuck sprees" (get your mind out of the gutter) where he yells off crap like "fuck you fucking bad fucking ball fucking player"... now I know Bob Knight probably used the word on more than one occasion, but I DOUBT anything like that happened... or at least as often as it does in the movie. Now I know the execs at ESPN will tell you that they NEEDED to use that language to acurattley portray Knight... BULLSHIT!! They NEEDED a decent actor, or maybe some sort of plot, or maybe covering more than ONE YEAR of his life. Plus, this was on a regular cable channel at 8 o'clock! I don't care what the little symbol in the corner says, that just isn't right. There are tons of children out there that watch ESPN and probably watched this movie (what with the massive advertising that made it SEEM good) and they really don't need to be exposed to that. I didn't even know that kind of language was allowed on basic cable at all... the only difference between this movie and The Sopranos was that Dennehey's weapon of choice is a chair. I sure hope that Matt Stone and Tre Parker weren't watching this... or the next think you know South Park will be doing this every week.
All that stuff aside, it was STILL bad. There was VERY little plot and even less detail. It made Knight look like nothing but a fierce disciplinarian. They only once mention that he won a national championship... this movie was absolutley discusting. I'm out of energy to complain anymore... if this is ever on again DONT watch it.
Under ANY circumstance
