You're looking at the boards newest, and without a doubt only, Young Drivers Graduate

You know, passing North America's most difficult drivers ed course rules....It proves I'm a good driver, and it just shows that I kick ***...wait till they mail me the certificate, I'll scan and post it, just to brag some more :)

So what, it's a bit of a boost to the ego....Damn I'm good....

BOOYAH!!!

Who's your daddy? :):D:cool:

Cool...congrats.

Don't get too cocky though...experience is a much better teacher than any school when it comes to driving. ;)

(yes, I realize that I'm 17, have only had my license for slightly over a year, and don't have room to talk, but it's fun. :))

Just as I can't argue you about experience only being so important, you can't argue me about drivers ed not being that important, as neither of us have experience, no pun intended, in the other....but I've had my beginners for 6 months, so thats like half the experience you have, combined with drivers ed :)

The..wha? Huh? The old bill?

Suggestion: Shut up until you get a license.

Suggestion: Bite me.

I can post about being a Young Drivers graduate if I please, this is what we call 'making conversation' If people did not post about such things, there would be no conversation of anymore value than GoF's "So I'm like yeah..." thread in the useless board. No offense intended, of course.

Maybe the board should just be a flame board. You could post about your life, and we could tell you how we don't care, what we think of your intelligence level, and other misc. things.

You misintrepreted what I said, let me clarify;

You passed a test which says you might be a good driver. Good for you, unless the teacher is lazy, in which case it's just another piece of paper.

Well, in that case, don't bite me. If you'd said that to begin with, instead of telling me to shut up for no reason, this would not have happened...

Apostle, shutup. Tell me, why is there a flame board here? Why?! To post comments like that on, dumbass. You're just jealous cos we all picked up and left OTG/ENG as soon as this site came around again.

OTG is picking up, Riker. I come here to mock you :p

OTG sucks, and nobody likes you. We all know this is true.

Jeeze, how many people are there in your head? That's the first time you'd said "we all."

To go back on topic...

I wouldn't have my license otherwise. One cannot get a license in Ohio while one is under 18 without taking driver's ed. It was good to teach a few of the basics, but I really think about 80% of what I've learned about driving has just been from me going out and driving.

Well, you probably just took one of the cheap minimal requirement ones, yes?

Anyway, IMO it teaches you alot...yes, you learn the basics just from experience, but the Young Drivers teaches you collision avoidance, defensive driving tactics, all that stuff...also driving in adverse conditions....emergency manuvers..which I royally sucked at at first...I killed the imaginary kid 3 times

I just think it taught me alot of the more complex driving stuff...experience is one thing, it tells you when to act, but the drivers ed tells you what to do when you're experience tells you to act....and what the hell are you talking about, you've nly got 6 months more experience than me :)

As it was, I had to learn that from my dad...who teaches a remedial driving course for those who are required by law to take it after so many traffic offenses... I think I learned pretty well though. Two winters and I've yet to go off the road or go sideways or slide through a turn, etc. I've slid some, but never catastrophically.

6 months...you got your learning permit sometime last summer, correct? I had mine in September '00...drove three times the legal requirement with a parent before I got my license...

These types of courses should be a compulsary part of your test. I have to do them every year as part of my companies HS policy. They are definatly worth it and I reccomend any driver to take one.

Both Apostle and TomRiker, please try to act like you're getting along with each other. Save any flames for an IM service, email or anything else other than this message board.
